I waited nearly an hour to see someone who had difficulty comprehending Right Arm, Left Leg. The person then was very condescending regarding my use of the term bilateral with scoliosis. She told me there was no such thing as bilateral scoliosis.Scoliosis doctors refer to double curves as bilateral (or often 'S-shaped') because they involve two distinct structural curves bending in opposite directions on both sides of the spine's central axis. Typically, one curve occurs in the thoracic (upper) region and the other in the lumbar (lower) region, creating a 'two-sided' or 'S' deformity. I will not be returning. I'd rather suffer than be talked down to by someone who has absolutely no knowledge about the condition they are seeing you for.
