I underwent a double mastectomy with reconstruction due to BRCA. My recovery was difficult and included complications, none of which were Dr. Bender's fault. I couldn’t have asked for better care than what I got from Dr Bender. My final surgical outcome is great. The reconstruction looks perfect, and I'm really glad I did a 'Direct to Impact' procedure. Dr Bender took the time to explain everything clearly to my husband and I—far more than the other surgeons—and always spoke to us and connected with us with patience. He didn't treat us like transactional patients. When we were under his care, we felt informed, supported, and prioritized the entire time. His style with patients, skill, and compassion make him a great doctor to work with, even through difficult situations.
