An initial visit for a sinus infection uncovered premature ventricular contractions, for which she immediately took an EKG. From there I saw a cardiologist who said everything was okay even though the CAT scan technologist recommended a follow up full chest scan. Karen got that scheduled for me, whereupon a blood clot in my right lung artery was discovered. She immediately reached out to several doctors for direction, arranged to get me on a blood thinner and set up an appointment for a pulmonologist. 33% of people with an untreated blood clot in the lung die.
