She is not my normal Midwife and was filling in at the OB office I go to as the on call midwife. I called two days in a row explaining I was 10 days postpartum and had a 103-104 degree fever, chills, and back pain. She told me to take acetaminophen to treat my fever, which I did, but it did not help. I called back for a second time and told her my symptoms and fever had gotten worse. She said “if you are worried about it, go to urgent care, but you are just going to risk getting your baby sick”. So I listened against my judgment and stayed home. My skin turned purple and I could not stop shaking, so I went to the ER. When I arrived, she said “you just really wanted to come in didn’t you”. I ended up with sepsis, pneumonia, RSV, and a UTI. If I would not have ignored her advice to stay home, I would have died and left my newborn baby without a mother. I am posting this review in hopes she reads this and takes patients concerns seriously, especially when they are freshly postpartum.
