How likely are you to recommend Dr. Gray?
Recently did a full mouth extension of my existing teeth and was excellent
If I could give negative stars I would. The staff is phenomenal but Dr Gray was arrogant, condescending, & dismissive. I’m left with severe jaw pain & am going on 8 weeks post wisdom teeth removal… At 6 weeks post op I woke up with major swelling on my left side of my jaw. At this point I had NO pain, just a HUGE jaw. I went to a local ER who recommended I contact Dr Gray(who I had already been trying to contact for hours). It was on a Saturday so I called his “after hours” line posted on his website; repeatedly. The answering service informed me that even though he was on call he was seemingly ignoring all messages and voicemails they were leaving him. They tried to contact him multiple times from 7:30am to 4:30pm. I ended up in STL at the hospital who again after discharging me with a severe infection, suggested I follow up with Dr Gray to rule out if it was from my teeth removal. I was able to get in the following Wednesday. Upon seeing him I felt he was dismissive and in a hurry to get out of the room. He refused to discuss what happened regarding him not answering the emergency line & blamed the answering service(who were beyond kind to me & actually called me that evening as well as the day after to check on me). During my appointment he flushed my mouth out to see if the sockets were clean. He pried my mouth open when my jaw was swollen and stiff it could hardly open, so much so that I asked him twice to stop before reaching to grab his hand when he finally quit. It caused me so much pain I sobbed the rest of my appointment. His response to me was “pain is real for everyone”. He said that my sockets were clean and healed and that basically he wasn’t quite sure what had happened but that he would prescribe me a steroid for the swelling & that if it comes back he will have to cut my gums back open to see if there’s something in them that could be causing infection. When he left the room his assistant even stayed behind to check on me and make sure I was okay because she could tell how badly I was hurting. The pain I was in now, mixed with how he acted just made a bad situation worse. I left my appointment in more pain than I was when I arrived. It’s been over a week since I seen him and I have had consistent jaw pain that wasn’t even there prior to seeing him. I will not go back.
