Dr. Wayne Schmidt Jr is an absolutely amazing anesthesiologist. My husband was admitted to St David’s Georgetown on March 1, 2026. During the wee hrs of March 2 it was determined that he needed emergency surgery. Dr. Schmidt was our anesthesiologist. When the surgeon left our ICU room, Dr Schmidt stayed and talked with me making sure I understood exactly what was happening. He stayed with me while the team was getting everything set to go to the operating room. He literally was one of the ones that pushed my husband’s bed to the OR. Dr Schmidt came back to ICU after the surgery to discuss all that was done in the OR. Usually, you never see the anesthesiologist again. He would come in several times during our hospital stay to check on my husband but also to check on me. Dr. Schmidt has the best bedside manner of any anesthesiologist that I have ever met!I call Dr Schmidt not only a great Dr. but I call him a friend.Shari
