I was referred to Dr. Hassanein by my physician, my experience with the office staff was very disappointing. For two months, I kept calling just to schedule an appointment. The same receptionist answered each time and would not give her name, even when I asked. Every call ended with the same excuse: they had not received my referral. That was not true. My doctor’s office faxed the referral many times, and each fax had a confirmation showing it was received by Dr. Hassanein’s office. Even after I explained this, I was told, “We’re behind by 24 hours. Call back tomorrow.” I heard this over and over for weeks. I left multiple voicemails with no response. It is frustrating and upsetting to be treated this way, especially when patients are already dealing with illness and pain. A little professionalism and empathy would go a long way. I hope Dr. Hassanein is aware of how patients are being treated by the front office staff, because it reflects poorly on the practice!!!
