I've been seeing Dr. Yakov for nearly two years as I recover from polysubstance abuse and related depression/anxiety issues. She is an outstanding practitioner who provides much more than the typical clinical therapist. In addition to normative psychotherapeutic treatment, she has a very nuanced understanding of twelve-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, the important role spiritual growth plays in wellbeing, nutrition, as well as more cutting-edge practices that involve the controlled application of medicinal entheogens. What sets Dr. Yakov apart from the typical psychiatrist is her ability to understand the human and spiritual nature of an individual, and prescribe an effective holistic approach. I would highly, highly recommend her if you are seeking treatment and want a professional who truly cares.
