Dr. Susan Christensen, DDS

I don't usually write reviews but have decided it is time. I was a patient of Dr. Christensen's for 2 years because she was covered under my insurance. I left because she tried to pressure me to immediately begin steps for an expander during my daughter's scheduled cleaning. She is not even an orthodontist. I resisted, got a second opinion from an actual orthodontist, and was told there was absolutely no need for an expander. My new dentist has had to re-do all of Dr. Christiansen's work. The first thing he noticed was the crown she put in over a root canal. He thought it looked off in the x-ray. He watched it for a while and finally said it had to be redone. When he took it off, he found she had LEFT IN PLACE all of the temporary materials (cotton, etc.) the endodontist packs after a root canal - that are supposed to be removed prior to a crown - and just stuck the crown on top. Basic 101 she either didn't know or was too lazy to do. Find another dentist.

Unnecessary procedures were performed. Every time I went in for even routine procedures, something new would be “found”. I was constantly having work done, until I got a second opinion who said most of the work never needed to be done, which is why I was allowed to make payments. All other dentist offices collect the money they need that will meet the deductible of my insurance, or they estimate what it will be. I’ve researched and have been told that dental insurance hasn’t changed since the 70’s. So now, I am paying again for all of the work that was done “in house” at Eastview Dental and having to have it redone correctly, by professionals like Orthodontists, Periodontists, and the follow-up by a Dentist who cares about her patients oral health. I don’t know what Dr. Christensen’s motivation is but looking back now, it wasn’t my dental health… and I have friends who feel the same way about this dental practice. Be careful if you go for one procedure and leave with a list of other issues.
