Dr. Steven Gray, MD

I have been a patient of Stephen Gray for 3 years now and he is an excellent doctor. Very thorough and listens well, provides good information, and allows me to decide my care. His Referral Team at Centerwell needs more training and organization skills. Multiple times I needed a referral to another provider, and the team claimed to have faxed the orders but provider never got it after multiple attempts. I had to go into Dr. Gray office and ask them to print the orders and hand deliver myself to provider. when Referral Team tried getting a referral code from UHC to give to my specialist, they were inadequate. They provided only 1 diagnosis code instead of 2, and UHC denied my referral stating that code was not adequate for the procedure requested. Referral Team failed to ask UHC what the problem was, simply told me I was denied. I found out the insurance wanted a code for both limbs, equaling 2 codes, one for each limb. A simple inquiry on Centerwell's part would have solved alot delays
