I will be getting a new PCP. Assumed my flu-like illness was a false neg COVID. I discussed testing for Lyme (told her I've been out in the forest) or other viral etiologies, she said watch & wait. I next see her after I develop Bell's Palsy (R sided facial paralysis) after 2 weeks of severe neck/ shoulder aches never experienced before not relieved with muscle relaxers. Again talked about viral etiologies & other testing. She attributed it to new job stress, muscle strain, again watch & wait. I finally follow my gut of the last month and call the next day to order a Lyme test. 5 days later it's positive. Gives me 10 days of antibiotic which is for early Lyme disease without facial paralysis although lab results show markers of early turning into chronic Lyme, plus facial paralysis which warrants a month of antibiotics. Gives me 14 days of meds. Said antibiotic should help my face which it does not, it just destroys the lyme. Hope to regain facial expression, after 2 weeks no change
