Dr. Shane Leavitt, MD

I would rate my experience with Dr Leavitt as a zero possible. First visit he ordered an MRI and assured me he could fix me up and get me back on my feet. Hardly the case, I waited almost 2 weeks for him to return from vacation, only to be told I am too old (65) to have my hamstring repaired. He specifically told me to go home and take pain pills and muscle relaxers for 3 months and then start physical therapy at month 4. I had a full hamstring avulsion with a 6 cm separation. I lost 2 weeks of treatment time. I contacted a great, well known orthopedic surgeon in Boise that afternoon. She scheduled an appointment with me for the following day and two days later conducted a successful open proximal hamstring surgery on me (June 13). I have been recovering well with physical therapy ever since and will return to 100% pre-injury activity. My experience with Dr Leavitt was horrifying and his horrible advice could have cost me the majority of use of my leg for the rest of my life.

Dr. Leavitt is a wonderful surgeon. He is thorough, listens to you and tells it like it is. You will be glad he is your surgeon.
