Dr. Shalini Kansal, MD

I saw Dr. Shalini Kansal at Wellstar in 2024 for recurring sinus infections and chronic nasal obstruction (inability to breathe through my nose). During both visits, she spent less than 5 minutes with me. On the first visit she quickly recommended a septoplasty. Six months later my symptoms had significantly worsened, and on the second visit she immediately recommended nasal valve repair. I proceeded with surgery based on her recommendations. Since then I have required two additional surgeries with other surgeons (four total procedures) and have endured years of ongoing suffering and complications. Dr. Kansal did not order any imaging prior to my first or second recommended procedures. In my understanding, the standard of care for patients with my symptoms requires appropriate imaging before surgery. This experience has cost me years of my life and significant hardship. Dr. Kansal’s rushed approach and lack of thorough evaluation caused me considerable harm.
