In 2008 Hodges performed a spinal fusion on L5 S1. I didn't realise what pain was till after surgery. Post surgery back pain increased and continues to this day, 17 years ago. Now I have this intense screaming, literally, nerve pain in both feet, try that for 17 years. Both feet are numb and the left one drops which makes getting around hard. No doubt this surgery ruined my life. Tried all suggested procedures. The patient needs an education, not a pamphlet or a brief run down on risks. It can be worse after surgery believe me!
