Dr. Sarah Bienenfeld, MD

Dr. Bienenfeld was the on-call OB-GYN during my delivery. I found her bedside manner to be distant and clinical, which added to the emotional intensity of the experience. She strongly recommended a c section early on, and the cervical checks she performed felt rushed and uncomfortable. When I asked if the nurse could perform the checks instead, she appeared visibly irritated.As others have noted in their reviews, she maintained physical distance—standing several feet away with arms crossed—and reiterated her recommendation for a c-section. Her words were, “That’s the only safe option, but of course it’s your choice,” which felt more directive than supportive. I didn’t feel that my birth plan or emotional state were acknowledged or respected.My partner was also scared because he didn’t know what to expect next as things escalated very quickly.
