How likely are you to recommend Dr. Williams?
Without ever seeing me, Dr Williams ordered a needle biopsy on my Schwannoma tumor even though I had an MRI with and without contrast that could be used to diagnose my tumor. This unnecessary procedure put me at risk for pain, nerve risk, and a huge bill. When I went to my appointment, Dr. Williams didn’t even review my MRIs or my biopsy result beforehand. He didn’t even know that I had those procedures done, even though he ordered them and all of my results were sent to his office . I had to tell him that I had all of those procedures. He left the room to look for the results. When he returned he discussed my MRI report and told me that I had a Schwannoma tumor. This diagnosis was concluded simply from the MRIs. He didn’t even discuss the biopsy. This means he subjected me to a very unnecessary and very expensive procedure that was also very painful and took considerable time to recover from it. It was $2900 and I’m now on a two-year payment plan to pay it off when I didn’t even need this procedure. I trusted him and I shouldn’t have. I would like for the hospital to at least reduce the cost of my biopsy since the procedure was medically unnecessary and put me at physical risk. Dr. Williams deviated from standard procedure. As stated earlier, he didn’t even conduct an exam before ordering the biopsy. He could’ve confidently diagnosed my tumor without the biopsy. I work at a school. I don’t have the time or the money for unnecessary procedures, especially one that caused considerable pain and made me unable to walk normally. I would like to be reimbursed. This has been an extremely frustrating situation for me. When I went for my postop appointment, he informed me that my tumor was benign. He completely forgot that I had the biopsy that had already Determined that it was benign. He seemed like a very forgetful man. And he nonchalantly ordered me to get a medically unnecessary procedure that was extremely costly. He has no regard for How medical procedures can cost his patients a ton of money. I am very angry. On top of all this, I got Bill a full price for my postop appointment when I have insurance with a co-pay of $70. I was sent a bill for almost $400. Even though it’s been over six months, the situation has not been resolved.
