Failed to disclose that the scope he wanted to do would not be covered by insurance and I received a $300+ bill following the appointment. Had I have been properly informed of this, I would have declined this.

This was my first time in Dr Merritt's office and it is my last time in Dr Merritt's office. After having an x-ray of my sinuses studying them with the technician, my right side was totally gray (supposed to be black) explaining why I have such pressure, intentional discharge , and headaches, I'm then taken into the room, the staff explained The next step with the camera and the nasal spray. Dr Merritt arrives looks into the left side of my nose tells me to keep the tissue out of my nose, quit blowing, quit coughing it's all because of my anxiety yada yada yada. As I tried to explain to this man my symptoms and what's happening for the last 17 years of my life he pushed me off as dumb and stupid, not caring at all as I explained my strangling issues which cause severe coughing fits and an inability to breathe and loss of bladder control, he brushed me off telling me to stop coughing! He is the most arrogant condescending, rude person I have ever met in my life. Needless to say he told me the X-ray was clear. After informing him the X-ray was not clear he went to read the X-ray I was already leaving the building. I received a phone call from the medical assistant on my way home. She apologized to me, Explaining that the doctor went back and looked at the x-rays he was wrong. Therefore he's sending a referral for a CAT scan. Setting up an appointment with a neurologist and a swallowing eval. And wrote me out a prescription for antibiotics 850 mg * 20 days. I would not recommend this doctor if it was an animal being seen. That being said, the medical technicians the x-ray technician and the office staff were wonderful.
