I am a male, 64 year old retired Physical Education teacher. I was in excruciating lower back pain and Dr. Olivera performed an open discectomy on April 10th, 2026. I was 100% impressed with everything about my experience with Dr. Olivera and his medical team at AdventHealth Tampa! Dr. Olivera explained the severity of the herniated disc in my L2-L3, and he thoroughly explained exactly what would take place during the surgery and what to expect after the operation. Dr. Olivera is a brilliant doctor and he seemed to really care about me and my recovery. There was not one second when I doubted the sincerity of Dr. Olivera. My wife and I are snowbirds from Canada and I know that I would never wish to have an emergency surgery on my lower back, but I am very grateful that this emergency happened when Dr. Olivera was working at AdventHealth Tampa.

Dr Olivera took the time to explain in plain terms what he could do and was straight forward with the expected results. His results were impressive and we felt safe in his hands. He does not overpromise and is careful and experienced enough to perform just the right amount of resection. His staff are like him. He has our full recommenation.
