Refused to hydrate while on Chemo because its better to take fluids orally...how does that work when patient was so nauseas that she couldn't keep water down. Refused to give her a port, nurses had to stick her 3-4 times before getting an IV, 11 tries in one chemo session. Physician's assistants were great, but questioned why there was no port placed and gave IV fluids to improve patient care and comfort. Told patient the 'bright spots' on her PET scan were of no concern when actually it was cancer on her back. It seemed like the patient was given false hope just to convine her to choose a chemo treatment plan and this only led to poor quality of life. Definitely did not have the patient's best interest in mind!
