I was a new patient and he did not take the time to really listen to me and why I was there. He told me matter-of-factly that my problem is arthritis and it will worsen to the point of a knee replacement surgery and there is nothing he can do for me until a knee replacement surgery is needed. It felt very rushed and uncaring. He never took the time to get to know me and my needs. He indicated that perhaps a cortisone shot or brace could help but he could not do that. I would need to make an appointment with the NP. What MD that specializes in the knee is unable to give a cortisone shot? Bottomline, he did not care. The whole visit was a waist of my time and money but I do wonder how much of this treatment is the influence of managed healthcare.
