He treated me with neuroleptic medication for more than four years for a diagnosis that I ultimately did not have. When I eventually asked for the diagnosis to be removed, he told me that he had 'always had his doubts' about it. Despite apparently having doubts about the diagnosis, he never told me about them, suggested that I seek a second opinion, or suggested reassessing whether I should remain on the medication.During those years, I experienced significant physical consequences, including substantial weight gain, high cholesterol, and chronic tachycardia. The diagnosis was eventually removed, but only after I had to stop taking the medication during a hospitalization when I could not take medications by mouth. I never received an apology or meaningful acknowledgment regarding the years of treatment.Looking back, I am deeply disappointed that his concerns about the diagnosis were apparently not communicated to me while I was being treated for it for years.
