My 18 year old daughter was having difficulty concentrating and on the first visit was prescribed 2 meds for depression and anxiety. Never once did she offer alternative solutions to average 18 year old issues. She also never disclosed that she could not play sports while taking these meds as well as any side effects. . I myself am a medical professional and would most definitely use prescription drugs only as a last resort especially for a very young adult. Fortunately my daughter figured out on her own that she did not want to go back to her. She too felt it was weird to prescribe meds based upon an hr first visit chat. Big disappointment in the mental health community .
