When I went to Dr. Michelle Cohen for over a year she was insistent that my chronic pain was 'psychosomatic'. When I tried to push back because it didn't make sense and I didn't respond to 'psychosomatic' treatments, she would not listen, she would get annoyed and impatient. I even asked about retaking a SIBO test and getting antibiotics as part of the treatment, and she was insistent that it wouldn't help. I eventually moved over to a 3rd party GI company (not sure if I'm allowed to name it here so let's say it rhymes with New York Tastroenterology Tassociates) after being frustrated by her and the major NY hospital GI doctors (huge egos, when they don't know what to do they just say it's psychosomatic) and years of pain. And guess what? First appointment my new doctor had me do a SIBO test, then gave me antibiotics, and for the first time in 8 years I was pain free. It's been 2 years since then and my pain is 90% gone, which has been
