A first-time visit with your oncologist post surgery is a terrifying experience. Discussion of treatment plans and statistics of survival in an advanced stage can be overwhelming to digest. However, Dr Shusterman took me through all with patience and kindness, leaving his office with hope and confidence in his care. He has been extremely accessible throughout my treatments, responding thoroughly to messages on mychart in incredible speed, leaving one to wonder if he ever sleeps. While searching for an oncologist and speaking to other doctors, I came to learn that he is held in the highest esteem by both his colleagues and in other fields of medicine. One doctor at another cancer hospital said he is a scientist and brilliant. Another advised that he knew him only by reputation, and that he is one of the best in colon cancer oncology. And he is. I highly recommend Dr S. His PA Monica Rivera is wonderful and front office staff are all terrific.
