At my initial visit, I was told my inflammatory pattern was indicative of AS. At the follow-up, it became clear that my prior medical records — which I provided — had not been reviewed. The appointment lasted only 12 minutes and was very rushed. I was repeatedly interrupted & that made it difficult to ask questions.When I asked about my MRI, I was told the new findings were “just degenerative,” despite those changes not being visible a year earlier. When I asked if inflammatory disease can cause rapid degeneration, the answer was “Yes,” yet my concern was dismissed. I also asked whether my year of steroid treatment could have reduced the bone marrow edema; I was told “No, steroids are not effective,” yet then advised to have the new area injected with a steroid — a direct contradiction.I was further told a biologic was being offered “based purely on what I was telling her,” which suggested my history and imaging had not been considered. Administrative errors also rampant.
