Dr. Mark Russo, MD

I am a patient of Dr. Russo and went into a severe medical crisis and very ill involving my kidney failure diagnosis. I called for a rush or urgent appointment, but was told their policy had changed and I would need to join some affiliated program that they signed on with if I wanted to see a doctor in less than three months. This plan would cost me a additional $999. if I wanted to see a doctor sooner. Very rude uncaring staff answered his phone and said there were no exceptions. Staff REFUSED TO GRANT ME AN APPOINTMENT UNLESS I SIGNED WITH THIS SERVICE. I hope Dr. Russo will call me back and explain why he would refuse to see an established patient and or get me in to see him urgently as my labs are critically low. It seems this new service that his office asked me to sign up for gives me no more additional care, only adds to the amount that the doctor is charging me for regular care. This service is not covered by Medicare nor my Cigna plan G supplement so it is completely out of pocket. Wow!! Health care is becoming greedy. In closing, "Laureen" his office staff made the remark that I could find another doctor if I didn't like it. Very rude and insensitive!
