Dr. Lisa Carchedi, MD

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Lisa Carchedi regarding my son’s care.My son has autism and ADHD and had been under her care for approximately a year. Throughout that time, I repeatedly heard that she was unfamiliar with autism and did not feel comfortable managing many aspects of his condition. As a parent, that was concerning in itself.The situation became even more troubling when my son’s primary care physician prescribed a weight-loss medication. Rather than discussing the medication with his prescribing physician or taking the time to understand its purpose, Dr. Carchedi appeared to incorrectly assume it was equivalent to his ADHD medication simply because the medications are related. As a result, my son’s care at a crisis center was discontinued.Families of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities need providers who are willing to learn, collaborate, and communicate with other members of a patient’s healthcare team.
