My wife saw Dr. Thakkar for an ear infection in 2022. Thakkar said she had no infection and prescribed prednisone, which is contraindicated if there is an actual ear infection. So the infection got so bad that it blew a hole in the eardrum. When Thakkar examined the ear, he did not even notice the hole! I explained that my wife could make a whistling sound through the ear, which I knew was abnormal, and only then did he look more thoroughly. Eventually my wife saw a doctor with Baptist ENT Specialists, who helped her and sent her to Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute, where she had the largely destroyed eardrum reconstructed. She now has to use a hearing aid the rest of her life because of not being properly treated by Dr. Thakkar.
