Dr. Kishor Muniyappa, MD

I want to share my experience. The reviews (1's & 2's) are very similar to the experience I had with this office. Thank God I took the reviews into consideration before my procedure. I too never met Dr. Muniyappa for or during my consultation. I was scheduled for an appointment, given a prescription and instructions to prepare for the procedure. I received a call from Joshua two days before procedure to confirm the appointment and he answered a few questions and concerns. The day before the appointment I had a few more questions and concerns...and of course some anxiety about the appointment. I feel at this point, the day before the appointment the lines of communication should be made accessible to patients. I only wish the office staff would have shown compassion, concern, a little care to ease the anxiety. What I experienced was the exact treatment other reviewers were given. Use Caller ID if you are an established patient, because that is the only time they might pick up the phones. Forget leaving a message...the voicemail is completely full so you can't leave your concern or question on the office voicemail. I called via *67 and Brianna picked right up. I informed her that I would be canceling and not rescheduling my appointment the next day. I did not feel comfortable nor confident that this doctor or his staff could provide quality care for such an appointment. I felt immediate relief when I canceled, as I came to realize that good Customer Care is VITAL to the public ESPECIALLY...in the medical field. They will probably charge me the cancellation fee and I will NOT be paying because services were not rendered up to the date of the appointment. Please READ each Reviewers' comments. Know that we pay for healthcare, and we deserve to be treated well. The office staff is the face of the doctor...and I don't believe that either care. Dr. Muniyappa...you will continue to lose patients if your current office staff remains.

I consulted Dr. Muniyappa for severe pain in my upper chest and back. Unfortunately, my initial interaction was solely with the nurse; I briefly saw Dr. Muniyappa before the endoscopy, where the diagnosis of esophagitis was hastily conveyed to my husband with minimal details. Despite returning a week later with persistent pain, Dr. Muniyappa prescribed ineffective antidepressants. My inquiry about fundoplication surgery for Acid Reflux was dismissed by the nurse. Frustrated, I sought a second opinion at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, where Drs. Stephen Bowers and Vivek Kumbhari performed successful surgery for Hiatal hernia and transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF). The Mayo Clinic doctors confirmed the necessity of the surgery, providing significant relief. Dr. Muniyappa's office appears to be a one-man operation, and the lack of personal attention, coupled with dismissive responses from the nurses, has led me to decide against returning to this office.
