Dr. Kevin Murphy, MD

I am a 21 year Army veteran. In February 2019, I had a total left knee replacement done by Dr Murphy. I used an outside doctor, other than the VA, because I was approved to see him, and have the surgery done. About 4 years later, I went to see him about problems I was having with my replacement. When I started PT, initially after surgery, the physical therapist was able to get my knee flextion to 105 degrees. As time went on, my knee slowly began to have problems. I ended up having decreased flexibility, down to 82 degrees. I got approved to go back to physical therapy again, and they tried to get it to flex more, but were unable to. I went to another doctor, at the Providence Hospital, in Oregon City, to get another opinion. When they took x-rays, the doctor noticed that my replacement parts, in my knee, might be coming apart. I then went back to Dr. Murphy and explained this to him, and he said it was just you had extremely bad arthritis. That’s why your knee was so bad.
