Dr. Appel is my gastroenterologist. She diagnosed me with IBS last summer and has been fantastic in bedside manner, patient education, and referrals. I recently had my first appointment with CHOC's abdominal pain clinic team and I could not be happier that she referred me. She's sweet, dedicated, and it's not medical, but her sense of fashion is amazing. I'll shout it from the rooftops, there's literally nobody better at peds GI than her. She ordered scans and found fatty liver. She referred me to a dietitian and GI team that finally agree about me having dysautonomia. She really takes care of her patients and genuinely helps them.
