Dr. Josue Becerra, MD

The first few years I saw Dr. Becerra, he was great! He seemed to value me and wanted to help. When a med wasn't working, he switched me to something new, no issue.I have CPTSD, have been diagnosed for over 12 years now. Without too much detail, I was in the foster care system at a young age due to extreme abuse. I have zero contact with bio family, and protection orders against some; all this to say, there is a legal paper trail confirming that at very least, something happened to me.When I came out to him as trans, intending to have it marked on my file for future ref if and when I decided to medically transition, he became upset. He flat out told me I had never experienced any trauma, I had faked it all, and tried to rediagnose me as autistic instead for... whatever reason. I was expected to apologize to him or never be allowed in his office again. I left and never returned. To this day I struggle to trust psych doctors because of this man. Please, seek other options.
