My experience with Dr. Gjolaj regarding my mother's surgical care highlighted significant issues with post-operative communication and follow-up. While his surgical skills may be competent, his approach to patient concerns after the procedure felt consistently condescending and dismissive. When we questioned ongoing symptoms, he often responded by citing his extensive experience. A major frustration was the absence of clear post-operative guidance. For instance, when my mother was 'cleared for physical therapy,' no detailed instructions were provided. This led to confusion, as the physical therapist needed specific clarification regarding restrictions – information we felt we shouldn't have had to chase. Unfortunately, my mother's symptoms worsened, and subsequent communication remains challenging. If thorough post-operative care and communication are priorities, this practice may not be suitable.
