I saw Dr. Lundabye one time. I was excited to see him because of how thorough we was in the couple of times he saw my mother in the Senior Clinic. I was misdiagnosed at that time with the wrong autoimmune disorder. I was sick every month from the immunosuppressant, and I went years feeling unheard and not believed by my rheumatologist who I just stopped seeing. I really needed to be heard, and I was either not heard at all or he thought he knew what I was experiencing better than I did. He spoke with my old rheumatologist before meeting me. When I asked for follow up with a new rheumatologist, he made it clear that the referral was not to assess for a different diagnosis and restated my inaccurate diagnosis as fact. He cut me off when I spoke. I cried. I began feeling like the visit wasn’t even about me anymore. It hurt me deeply. Dr. Lundabye talked down to me. I had to go to Seattle to get the right testing, diagnosis and treatment. I’m much better now. I was heard there.
