A truly great doctor does not need to try to hide their distaste of communicating with others by telling silly jokes, interrupting the patient with a curt comment, etc.. At some point in his career he added on this odd attempt to mask his lack of patience, distaste for listening, and being a poor communicator. It was an interesting appointment, in an insulting kind of way, to be sure.
