How likely are you to recommend Dr. Alamo?
Dr. Alamo was 'assigned' to me by the practice I had been going to for years but there was a large staff change when the practice became part of Inova. She listens a little, then talks even if you haven't finished. She talks A LOT, not necessarily regarding the question you asked. My big complaint is that there's cardiac illness in my family (father died suddenly age 52) which means I have a high risk of cardiac disease. I asked Dr. Alamo if there were any coronary checkups that should be done. She said no, since I'd had a stress test (normal) fifteen or so years ago and am on statins so there is nothing to worry about but to let her know if I had any symptoms. (Previous physicians recommended an EKG every year or so even after that stress test.) Also, women often do not show symptoms of cardiac disease so I asked her whether my next symptom might be a fatal heart attack. At that point she scheduled me for a cardiac CT angiogram. I'm fed up and going elsewhere in future.
