My Cardiac Electrophysiologist at VMMC retired. 1. I SCHEDULED my annual wDr. Razak (as one of 2 Cardiac Electrophysiologist at VMMC) months in advance. THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT his office called & cancelled, no explanation but 'he needed to cancel'. As a Cardiologist, I assumed something urgent came up, and didn't ask any questions. 2. I RESCHEDULED, with a long lead time to an appointment again. 18 HOURS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT, his office called & cancelled AGAIN w no explanation. This time I asked why. No reason except "he just needs to reschedule." 3. I RESCHEDULED AGAIN, again for months out. THE MORNING OF THE APPOINTMENT, his office again called to cx. This time I was told I needed to get a stress test before he would see me! When asked WHY this was not mentioned any of the 3 times I scheduled DIRECTLY WITH HIS STAFF? No idea. 4. I RESCHEDULED YET AGAIN, this time 2 coordinated appts, meaning MORE of a lead time. By now, I not ONLY needed an annual appt, but a heart medication refill, & cardiac clearance for a pending back surgery. 22 HOURS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT, his office called to cancel bcs 'he doesn't DO cardiac surgical clearances.' WHAT?? When reminded the clearance was just an add-on to the Annual + Rx refill, I was advised I could reschedule - but not anytime soon - and for the Rx, perhaps I could schedule to see a PA? OMG. NO THANK YOU. NEVER AGAIN. Given his total lack of respect, lack of timeliness, lack of accountability or responsibility to the patient, lack of compassion, lack of solutions, etc, I would not trust him. period.
