Dr. Colleen Hupp, DO

I truly owe my life to Dr. Colleen Hupp. After complications years later from a serious motorcycle accident, I ended up with life threatening blood clots and needed a full aortic graft. Dr. Hupp not only caught what others missed, but even canceled her next surgery to take extra time with mine once she found more issues during the procedure. She checked on me every single day in the ICU and was always just a phone call away if I needed anything. Her entire team was amazing I never once felt like I was in the wrong hands. Yes, you might have to wait for a Monday visit, but that’s because she’s out here saving lives. She’s truly the best in her field. I can’t say enough good things about her care, her heart, and her dedication.

I give her a zero if I could. She was absolutely awful. She was extremely stuck up, rude, short, never looked me in the eyes once, didn’t even have enough respect to assess me. The worst bedside manner I have witnessed. I was so hopeful and excited to see Colleen Hupp as I was told she could help with my new and rare diagnosis of nutcracker syndrome. I was so confident she would be able to help or at minimum refer me to someone that could. She quickly dismissed any questions I had (which I made her stay and answer) as I waited over 2 months to be seen, and then even had to be a courier of my own CT scan because her office said how badly she needed it. I was just blown away at the lack of compassion of any kind. I even attended to the same school as she did and I personally know the quality of surgeons they produce. Most are absolutely amazing people. I am not sure what happened with this one. I was rushed during my appt (I’m not sure if she knew I was also a medical provider) so I asked a few questions to see if she had actually taken the time to even look at my CT scan, she CLEARLY did not. The questions I was asking she should have been able to answer quite easily even if she had. I was specifically told that no one in that practice could do anything for me with my nutcracker syndrome. I again asked her if there was anyone in the group that she knew of that could help me because I was referred to the group because of my diagnosis being a vascular compressive disorder and as a vascular surgeon one would think she would know at least one vascular surgeon. Nope, again said that no one there would be able to help me, and that I would need to go out of state to find help. Then in the middle of me, asking more questions she got up and tried to leave. I asked her to sit back down because I had more questions in regards to ,again, the CT scan which she didn’t look at as I stated above. Then the referral that she was supposed to make for me never happened (which was pain management). No one ever followed up with me and when I called they had never received any referral and this was a week and a half after I made sure to give the clinic enough time to get the referral. I left the office in tears as I had waited months to get into this place as I heard it was the best. I was extremely extremely disappointed in how I was treated as a person and also a medical provider. I can only imagine how she treats others. Hopefully better than me. Worst dr/surgeon I have ever been around.
