I was being monitored for an indolent lymphoma. During one of my routine checkups I indicated I had a lump on my inner thigh, which I found out later is one of the three spots lymphoma shows up, and she glanced at it and dismissed it. Three months later for another routine checkup I noted it had gotten bigger. She again dismissed it without any testing and suggested I see a dermatologist. I saw a dermatologist who indicated it wasn't a dermatological problem, so I went to my family doctor. He ordered an MRI and told me it was lymphoma. They took a little longer than I felt optimal to get the MRI results so I dropped off the disk that I was given. Two and a half weeks later they seemed to go into panic mode and ordered a biopsy, which showed I had an aggressive lymphoma. I went for a second opinion somewhere else and realized I had lost all faith in Dr. Owens as essentially 7 1/2 months had gone by between my original pointing out the lump and the results of the biopsy.
