Patient Reviews

I would not recommend this pediatrician based on my experience. We only saw him three times, and each visit lasted no more than 5 minutes. He never physically examined my son — no listening to his heart/lungs, no hands-on check — just a quick conversation after vitals were taken by staff. During those short visits, he was dismissive and even called me a "bad mom," which was extremely unprofessional and hurtful. He also insisted he knew more than my son’s team of specialists, even though my child has complex medical needs that require specialist care. I prefer to follow the advice of doctors who actually treat my son’s specific conditions, and he did not respect that. What concerns me most is that instead of supporting us, he made very serious and untrue statements about my child’s health to outside agencies, which caused unnecessary stress for our family. Additionally, months later, I received a bill for over $1,000 for an appointment that never happened — I was hospitalized that day due to a stroke, so we were not even there. Overall, I found Dr. Thornton unprofessional, dismissive, and not thorough in his care. I strongly encourage other parents to consider these factors before choosing him as their pediatrician.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
