Being a chronic pain patient I'm always apprehensive about going to the ER, but I was in such distress I had to go. I'd already delayed care for 36 hrs due to worry about how I may be treated but I couldn't put it off anymore. I explained my fears about how I may be perceived. He was direct, yet caring, stating he understands that cpps do need ER treatment, including pain mgt, and since I'm NOT one who goes to multiple Drs, ERs, urgent care, nor trying to obtain meds unethically, he feels comfortable treating my pain and took care of me. He's the first ER Dr to treat me with that kind of respect for a very long time. I told him he just might change my opinion about ER Drs. Some are wise, understanding and caring. Dr Clark is one of these. I'm grateful he was my Dr that day. We need more Drs who still see us as humans who have needs and rights too. Chronic pain doesn’t make us ineligible for respect and care, nor is it a weakness or character flaw. Thx, Dr. Clark
