We brought our newborn to the Pediatric Emergency Department after a fall and were seen by Dr. Yingst. After the initial exam, he left the room and did not return for several hours. During that time, we repeatedly asked for updates, but no information was provided about our child’s condition or what the doctor was concerned about. We were left without any explanation during a critical situation involving an infant.When he eventually returned, he spoke briefly to my wife. The moment I began speaking, he refused to look at me, acknowledge me, or respond in any way. Being ignored as a parent during an emergency visit involving a newborn is unacceptable and made it impossible to stay informed or involved in my child’s care.During the initial evaluation, he also paused to read a personal message on his smartwatch.
