How likely are you to recommend Dr. Schultz?
Doctor Schultz is a bad doctor. I don’t say that lightly, and I’ve never left a review like this before. I don’t like tearing someone down but I realize others considering entrusting her with their health should be aware. I wish I had a review like this to go off of when I first considered going to see her. At a macro level: She is brusque and rushed. She speeds through appointments, doesn’t listen and constantly cuts you off when you try to ask questions. She has on multiple occasions lost her temper at me for asking her to explain things in more detail or answer basic questions in ways I’ve never experienced in any other professional context. Her office is incredibly poorly run. Prescriptions are rarely refilled in a timely manner; it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone. Once, they booked me an appointment only to tell me when I arrived the doctor was not available. As for the doctor herself, I had an in session sleep test at a lab that she ordered; it took her weeks to call me with the results, and she could hardly explain what they meant. Worse of all, she had me on a medication at a double the usual dose without sufficiently explaining the possible side effects. When that same medication was later added to the fda’s black label list, I was never informed. It took me years to connect the dots between how I was feeling and this drug. I had to do that entirely on my own. I would not recommend working with her. I have to imagine there are many other doctors in New York City who will treat you with kindness, respect and actually take the responsibility of your health seriously
