I was reading something on the wall with my back turned to the door while I waited for Dr. Schaeffer. It was disconcerting and off-putting when I turned around to see Dr. Schaeffer sitting in a chair. He did not announce his entrance. In truth, my internist recommended Dr. Ditkoff, but it is not unusual these days to have to wait a long time for the doctor you really want to see. I needed impacted earwax removed. Dr. Schaefer seems annoyed that he has to deal with patients whom he feels are below him in intelligence and worth. He does not explain what he is going to do before he does it. At one point, he sticks a QTip in each nostril and I am flummoxed. Next thing I know there is a tool in my nostril. It appears Dr. Schaeffer feels patients are unworthy of being told what is happening to them. Complete arrogance. After the hearing test, he flippantly states, “you need hearing aids.” I have been wearing them for ten years. I would not recommend Dr. Schaeffer. Patients deserve better.
