How likely are you to recommend Dr. Smith?
I drove 70 miles to see Dr. Smith. My GP knew there was an 'entanglement' from my symptoms - my fingers balled to a fist if I raise my hand. At my 1st appointment, I mentioned that I thought it was a cyst. I could feel the lump in there. I could visibly see a lump. It was obvious. He offered a steroid shot. I accepted. It didn't work. $3k in MRI co-pays later, 1st on my elbow, even though I kept saying wrist, and then finally my wrist. Plain as day, the MRI report said there was at least 1 ganglion cyst, possibly 2. Dr Smith offered me another steroid shot. I cried and asked why he wouldn't do anything. He asked me, 'What is it that you think I can do for you, surgically?' I took the steroid shot and left, in shock. I was speechless and devasted. Hopeless. I woke from the shock and called making it clear I wouldn't be back if the doctor was unwilling to help me. That was a year ago. I can't move my hand much at all now. Nobody is willing to 2nd opinion him. It's just my reality now.
