How likely are you to recommend Dr. Juncadella?
Was out of town and had a flare up so I went to urgent care since Juncadella’s office refused to help me since it was a year since I was last seen. Kimberly was not compassionate on phone and quite rude. Was put on 50 mg of prednisone by urgent care doctor for 2 weeks till I got back in town for my appointment scheduled with Michelle. She refused to wean my prednisone which is what you are supposed to do!! I went from 50 mg for 2 weeks to stopping cold turkey. All she prescribed was mesalsmine for my severe case that I was diagnosed by a different doctor in another state few years ago. Days later, my cramps were very intense and tried reaching out to ask for prednisone and of course the answer was straight up NO! With no explanation. It takes them days to reach back out to you which is frustrating when in pain. They refuse to actually call you on the phone so you can go into depth on how you are feeling to try to get some relief. More days go on where I’m now bedridden due to pain and lost 25 lbs in 1 week due to not eating/drinking from the intense pain. I reach back out to them to be told to go to ER. I went to ER and ER put me on prednisone! Why wouldn’t Juncadella and her office do this for me?!?! I’m bedridden and was told to get labs by the office. I go even though I can barely walk since I’m so weak. Twice during the month under Juncadella’s so called “care” they sent my prescriptions to wrong pharmacies! So I had to go back home and call office which took days for them to get back to get the prescription sent to correct pharmacy. I was only prescribed Mesathamine and something else that was useless. Plus, they tell you to do bloodwork but then days later: oh wait! There’s another blood test you need to do all while you are at the point of bedridden. Finally, got an appointment for a colonoscopy and that day talked about what specialty medicine to get me on. To be told I need to do another blood test. I go straight to the lab after colonoscopy to help rush this up to get on some sort of medicine. I then reached out to the office stating my lab results are in, so they can submit this prior authorization to my insurance. Days later go by, to be told I need another lab done before they can do that!!!! Shouldn’t the doctor have known all the labs that needed to be completed to get on this specialty medicine?! This is just delaying more days of me being in severe pain as my cramps are a level 9 out of 10 for past couple weeks at this point. I even expressed this level of pain to them and they didn’t care. Called them incompetent and Juncadella called the day after my colonoscopy while I’m still in pain, not to ask how I’m feeling (as she never asked or cared) but to kick me out of the practice and tell me I have 30 days to find a new GI doctor. Which put more stress on me to do so in a short amount of time as of takes months to get into GI doctors. (Was gonna switch doctors after on specialty medicine anyways because of the poor care from Juncadella and her “care team” but now I’m rushed while not feeling well. Juncadella started the process for the specialty pharmacy but I had to reach out few times to the specialty pharmacy to ask them to attempt to reach out to Juncadella office again as her office was not submitting the prior authorization form. I then had to reach out myself to them through portal to state specialty pharmacy was only going to attempt one more time and they no longer will reach out. They finally after over a week later maybe even longer, filled out the form. But, few days later, I got a denial from my insurance company. I called my insurance company to be told they left A LOT of yes/no questions blank and did not sent over proper medical records. I firmly believe this was intentional as they already were kicking me out of office and was toward end of the month at this point and prob was hoping insurance wouldn’t have gotten back with a result so fast. Even the office girls were clueless on my copays that I had to pay on my initial visit. It clearly states on my insurance card but both girls helping each other said they don’t see a copay. I left a lot out as there’s more about how horrible this office is. Also, I went to my primary doctor to get a referral for new GI doctor and they couldn’t believe they never weaned me off prednisone. My new GI doctor was confused why they didn’t do a full colonoscopy vs just a sigmoid as my catscan showed inflammation everywhere. Was prob due to time, she was running around day of colonoscopy to each patient. All about money not about the patient. She barely had time to talk about results after the colonoscopy. New GI doctor was a breath of fresh air, knowledgeable, everyone took their time on the office to answer my questions. I would never recommend Juncadella and her office to anyone!
Nurse practitioner, Kimberly, is not a pleasant person!!! Not compassionate about someone’s situation over the phone. What a ruckus that just because someone was great for 2 years medicine FREE but now has a flare up, they won’t prescribe anything until the actual appointment because you haven’t been to the office in that timeframe . An appointment is set up but not available for couple weeks, so 2 weeks of suffering or paying unnecessary money to go to urgent care was their recommendation by Kimberly . All about $$$$$$$$$$$$ not the actual patient well being. No one ever calls back or responds back in the portal to answer urgent questions in a timely manner!!! My husband has been basically bed ridden for over 2 weeks and there’s no urgency or desire to help stop the pain. Just wants you to pay thousands of money at the ER instead , get a bunch of tests, and colonoscopies with still no pain management. Tells you to get a certain blood test which my husband did that day to try to rush the process to get started on a certain medicine to then be told in the portal (days later keep in mind) he needs another type of blood test done (keep in mind my husband is in severe pain and can’t leave his bed-but they don’t care that they are incompetent and should have ordered all the blood tests at once, the DR clearly forgot more is needed for this type of medicine!) I do not recommend this doctor at all!! If you suffer from any digestive issue such as Ulcerative colitis, crohn’s etc, I highly recommend you see another DR who knows what they are doing for patients in these situations. The whole office doesn’t know anything: from the med student who sends the prescriptions to the wrong places(then waiting days for a response back to have them sent to correct place), to the nurse practitioner to the doctor. I’ve kept my mom who’s a nurse up to date on everything insane that has gone on the last few weeks with this office and DR and she can’t believe the incompetence here either! The DR herself said if he doesn’t get on this medicine soon that he will end up in the OR. Well, duh! We went into the office over 2 weeks ago looking for immediate help and here we still are with no proper medicine. I’ve been calling and writing in the portal with no responses till days later trying to get on top of getting these orders complete. They will never call you back by phone btw. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. Never experienced incompetence like this when he had his GI doctor take care of a flare up in South Carolina.
