What began as a simple stomach bug quickly turned into an emergency appendectomy for my 18-year-old daughter. After a long, confusing night and a transfer to Rio Grande Regional Hospital, we were exhausted and scared. When Dr. Angel Tamez walked in that morning, everything changed. His calm presence, empathy, and clear communication brought immediate relief. He explained the situation to me in medical terms I understood, then took the time to explain it again to my daughter in a way that made her feel seen, respected, and reassured. His updates before and after surgery were detailed, compassionate, and delivered with genuine care turning a terrifying moment into one filled with trust and hope. The exceptional experience continued at her follow-up visit, where his staff and practice manager welcomed her warmly and even celebrated her bravery with an ice cream sundae “for being a big girl now.” Thank you to Dr. Tamez, his staff, and his practice manager for providing the best care!
