I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I scheduled what I believed was a routine, in-network specialist visit and was later billed not only my copay, but also a $500 “hospital outpatient” charge. This was in a standard office setting—I did not receive any hospital-level care, nor was it made clear beforehand that this visit would be billed as a hospital service.Patients should not be blindsided with excessive charges for what appears to be a normal doctor’s appointment. Transparency around billing is absolutely lacking, and it feels misleading to present a visit as routine while charging it as hospital-based care.Because of this experience, I will not be returning and would caution others to ask very specific billing questions before scheduling.
